The resort is in a superb location on a
hill among a tropical forest overlooking the ocean on one
side and a freshwater lagoon with a white, sandy isolated beach
on the other.
Accommodation is in nine rustic, barefoot
luxury style bungalows with private verandas and views
over the water. There are also the special Upepo Suites with larger
rooms and private plunge pools. The open-plan bar and dining area
offer pure relaxation and if you are able to escape the inviting
hammocks and friendly, attentive staff, you have
the choice of bird-watching, forest walks, horse riding,
canoeing and water sports.
We agree with the recent award of “World’s
Best Beach Hideaway” Ras Kutani recently won, and
recommend this great place to our clients. An especially good time
to go is January to May when turtles hatch in nests adjacent to
the lodge.
Ras Kutani provides an escape from the
outside world, a dreamy environment for guests to relax in hammocks
on your private bamboo banda veranda, in the bar or on the beach;
it is without doubt one of Tanzania's finest beach hideaways. Cards,
chess and backgammon are about as stressful as this place gets.
